Infrastructure Project Manager

Albany, NY
The Project Manager is responsible for driving all aspects of the project from definition through completion.  The position requires interfacing with customers and resources and includes planning, risk assessment and mitigation of potential issues. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development of project plans, budgets and timelines and scope resource allocation
  • Manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity simultaneously
  • Act as a liaison between the Sales Account Executive and professional services delivery personnel to drive the successful delivery of projects as defined by the Statement of Work (“SOW”)
  • Ensure that issues and risks are identified and managed early in the process to mitigate surprises, risk to scope, cost and schedule
  • Monitors the project from initiation through delivery
  • Works as a billable resource managing projects where a PM resource is warranted
  • Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project (i.e. on schedule delivery and within budget constraints)
  • Manage changing requests from customers and assessing the impact on the project
  • Partner with Service Delivery Coordinators to ensure alignment to quality standards
  • Responsible for entering all work as activities or service tickets, submitting weekly time sheets and expense reports in the project management software
  • Works with the PMO Manager to maintain Company project management standards, procedures and best practices
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of standardized project documentation to include project plans, agendas, action item lists, and deliverables
  • Performs related duties as assigned or requested
 
Qualifications
  • Strong process orientation and ability to orchestrate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated project management skills, techniques and methodology with past track record of successful project completion
  • Excellent communication skills to work with multiple high-profile stake holders
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Strategic mindset with strong planning, analytical, negotiation, decision-making, workflow redesign and process improvement skills
  • Experience in one or more technologies, including Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, VMware, Storage, Security
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to travel to client sites; When/If COVID restrictions are lifted – up to 25% travel possible
 
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology disciplines preferred, plus 7 years IT industry experience or some Higher Education and 15 years relevant IT industry experience.
  • At least 5 years project management experience managing IT infrastructure / system integration projects

PREFERRED:
  • Experience managing large projects in the following technologies – Cisco (Networking-Wired/Wireless), Microsoft (O365, SharePoint, TEAMs, Azure), Citrix and Security Practices
  • Active PMI-PMP certification
