Controller

The Controller’s primary goal is to direct the Accounting Department, including Treasury, A/P and Payroll.  Requires accurate and timely closings including preparation of account reconciliations, consolidating and consolidated Financial Statements, and Management Reports.  The position is responsible for setting and maintaining internal controls, Audit and Budget preparation, income taxes, multi-state sales taxes, taxes and financial reporting for a private reporting entity.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

The position supervises exempt and non-exempt staff and has oversight for:
  • Lead the month-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Work with department managers to ensure timely and accurate transfer of billing and sales reporting
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly internal management reporting package.
  • Manage annual financial audits with our auditors - manage deadlines, prepare schedules, compile support, reconcile accounts, act a point of contact for external audit team
  • Manage technical accounting activities in-line with recent GAAP pronouncements, drafting of technical accounting memos, and implementing new FASB Standards
  • Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls and processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Coordinate insurance renewals and financial analysis of related renewals
  • Review the preparation and submission of Federal and State income tax returns, coordinate the completion of appropriate franchise, property, sales and use, and other local tax filings.
  • Annual Budget and ongoing Forecasting
  • Equity and Stock Option Accounting using 3rd party software
  • Cash Management and Forecasting
  • Contract Management Review of customer and vendor terms
  • Bank Collateral and other Credit Reports
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of organization financial records
  • Review and approve bank ACH and wire transfers
  • Provide ongoing accounting support to the department managers
  • Other assigned duties and projects, as necessary to support the company
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • CPA , Bachelor’s Degree or candidate with foreign equivalent degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 7 years of industry experience in a high-volume corporate environment, preferably value added Reseller, or Distribution company experience
  • Demonstrates a substantial working knowledge of General Accounting, including thorough knowledge of data selection and reporting and current revenue recognition guidelines for this industry
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to work individually and as part of a group to accomplish goals
  • Works to proactively identify and address issues and willing to guide others in correct practices
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making and time-management skills with the ability to complete specific tasks or projects under deadline
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, skilled with interacting with multiple levels of an organization
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel 
  • Preferred prior experience with use of Oracle NetSuite Reporting
