Senior Unix Automation Engineer

We are searching for a Senior Unix Automation Engineer.  You will possess at 4+ years with configuring and managing Linux Systems.  Additionally, you will have experience with OpenStack virtualization, OS scripting, automation tools (PowerShell/Bash/Chef/Ruby/Perl/Python/PHP), and system security.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, firmware.
  • Experience with managing and configuring systems on TCP/IP networks and an understanding of network concepts, protocols, and tools/applications (e.g. Wireshark), 2 years
  • Solid understanding of essential TCP/IP protocols: TCP, UDP, ICMP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, and understanding of wider set protocols.
  • Operational experience supporting enterprise class systems in a 24x7 high availability environment, 3 years
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deploy highly available server solutions in a multi data center environment.
  • Strong understanding of high availability concepts with practical experience and implementation of key components (databases, application servers, fault tolerant systems, cluster server/software, etc.)
  • Break-fix experience preferred
  • Understanding of IT architecture and Data Center environments
  • Understands how to perform migrations and cutovers for large environments and performed them as a lead including required documentation
  • 4+ years of experience configuring and managing Linux systems
  • 1+ years experience with OpenStack virtualization
  • 3+ years experience with OS scripting and automation tools (PowerShell/Bash/Chef/Ruby/Perl/Python/PHP)
  • 2+ years experience of operating system security (best practices for installation, configuration, patching, etc.)
  • Understanding of databases – Oracle
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex configuration problems or system issues
