Marketing and Communications Specialist

The Marketing and Communication Specialist will work on all aspects of communication about the program. Additionally, they will contribute to the development and implementation of communication strategies to achieve consistent, effective messaging and awareness-building, manage expectations, and support change management efforts to promote use of the new software.  Additionally, the Marketing and Communications Specialist shall be responsible for supporting the successful technical implementation of an information sharing system.
  • Review, coordinate, oversee, and implement a wide variety of information and media projects, promotions, and public relations, including integration activities and programs or messages aimed at employees and residents.
  • Develop multi-faceted communication plans.
  • Compiles and analyzes data from a wide variety of sources.
  • Draft, edit, review and obtain approvals for internal and external communication documents.
  • Write and review content for newsletters, intranet and internet web sites, and presentations.
  • Deliver presentations about to various audiences.
  • Ensure that messages and images are appropriately conveyed to the public and to employees.
  • Coordinate promotional events.
  • Initiate and answer correspondence inquires.
  • Work with limited supervision and make recommendations and decisions involving the release and format of sensitive, strategic, and confidential information.
  • Create integration and communication strategies which will prepare leaders and employees to lead, manage and accept change throughout the organization.
  • Liaise with staff
  • Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics.
  • Consult and coach project teams responsible for transforming business processes on communication techniques and processes.
  • Develop written and graphic content for internal and external communications media, such as: executive and national presentations, web content, video, social media, email blasts, news and journal articles, flyers, and training materials.
  • Work with the training department to develop and execute training curriculum in support of organizational change management efforts.
  • Define and measure communication methods and measure metrics, monitor and report out on progress.
  • Use a hosted file storage site as a central repository for project artifacts and required documentation.
  • Report out on project status using reporting tools, standards, and format.
  • Working with the team, deliver communication activities of to support successful results, and budget and schedule outlined for the project.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design communications strategy.
  • Lead the development of written and graphic content for internal and external communications media.
  • Design communications assessments, including the definition of performance metrics and establish monitoring and controls.
  • Support training efforts.
  • Support change management efforts.
  • Written or spoken communication materials, tools, presentations.
  • Developed and updated project planning documents.
  • Project status reports
  • Coordination of activities
  • Track and log project deliverables and ensure that deliverables are placed in the project documentation files.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Recent experience within the last 2 years.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with strategic public relations concepts and methodologies.
  • Quick learner, able to accurately assimilate and analyze information from a variety of sources, and synthesize to produce consumable products.
  • Demonstrated ability to create messages and communication tools for broad audiences.
  • Knowledge of, and proven ability supporting the development and coordination of multi-media campaigns, from research, to planning and implementation, to evaluation.
  • Knowledge of change management principles.
  • Experience using learning management systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including: Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, SharePoint, internet, and social media.
  • General understanding of technology and how it supports business.
  • Soft skills: creative, focused, strong organizational skills, problem solver, attention to detail, flexible, proactive.
